THE APATHY EFFECT EXHIBIT

The Apathy Effect Exhibit immerses its audience in international stories of resilient young survivors of human trafficking and the response of everyday people who were ignited with empathy when confronted by exploitation and the apathy that fuels it.

This educational exhibit and empowerment program ignites empathy and empowers participants with a response to issues of exploitation. The multimedia journey is told through original film, photography, and genuine artifacts; self-guided or interactive tours are available. Learn how and why this is happening, what iEmpathize is doing to help, and how you can engage to end it.

The Apathy Effect Exhibit is dynamic as a stand-alone event or as an addition to an existing event. Hosts have included universities, schools, conferences, government venues, human rights events, galleries, etc.

“I don’t cry on social media but when I came into this space, I could not stop the tears from falling. This connected with me in a way that spoke to my heart.”

TOUR EXPERIENCE

The exhibit includes a series of 8x8 free-standing panels featuring fine art photographs and text, spot lighting, eleven artifacts, and multiple short films. Participants can choose self-guided or interactive tours, process questions to make personal connections to the issue, experience additional stories for reflection, and generate responses for action personally and practically.

The Guided Tour Experience for small groups includes:

  • Empathy Exercise - participants process personal connections to the issue.
  • Reflection - participants experience personal guided reflection time following the tour.
  • Debrief - participants debrief their experiences and discuss appropriate responses when confronted with exploitation.
We equip adults and empower youth to eradicate exploitation.
