Welcome! We're glad you're here.
Introducing a Vital Training Tool for Healthcare Professionals to Recognize and Respond to Human Trafficking
Across the United States, more than 1.4 million healthcare professionals are in a critical position to recognize and respond to victims of human trafficking. Yet, many of these frontline professionals are unaware that exploitation is occurring right in their exam rooms, emergency departments, and clinics.
To address this urgent need, iEmpathize has partnered with Cedars-Sinai to produce a powerful, 24-minute video training course designed specifically for healthcare professionals. This robust, media-based training equips medical personnel with the awareness and tools needed to identify red flags, respond with empathy, and play a vital role in disrupting human trafficking and child exploitation.
The course offers a unique, trauma-informed lens into how exploitation intersects with the healthcare system—helping professionals recognize the subtle signs that often go unnoticed. From emergency room visits to routine check-ups, trafficked individuals may seek medical care multiple times while in exploitation. This training empowers providers to become proactive forces in prevention and intervention.
In New Mexico alone, over 146,000 individuals work in healthcare and social assistance—many of whom unknowingly come into contact with victims of trafficking. That’s why we’re proud to launch the HealthCares campaign in New Mexico: a national initiative by iEmpathize in partnership with the New Mexico Hospital Association and its 47 member hospitals.
Through this collaboration, we are delivering a first-of-its-kind training experience tailored for healthcare workers—ensuring that those best positioned to make a difference have the resources they need to recognize and respond to human trafficking in their workplaces.
